Упутство за употребу

Рутинска употреба

  • Inner Cannula Management: The unique inner cannula can be cleaned an unlimited number of times within a 29-day tube-use cycle. Regularly remove and clean the inner cannula to prevent mucus buildup and maintain airway patency.
  • Fenestration: The fenestrated design allows for airflow through the vocal cords, potentially enabling speech. Ensure the inner cannula is removed or a fenestrated inner cannula is in place for speech attempts.
  • Cuffless Design: This tube is cuffless, meaning it does not have an inflatable balloon. This design is suitable for patients who do not require positive pressure ventilation or who have a stable airway.

Speech and Decannulation

For patients ready for speech, the fenestrated design allows air to pass through the vocal cords when the inner cannula is removed or a fenestrated inner cannula is used. Consult with a speech-language pathologist for appropriate assessment and training.

Decannulation should only be performed by a qualified medical professional following a comprehensive assessment of the patient's airway and respiratory status.

Inner Cannula Cleaning

The inner cannula should be cleaned regularly to prevent obstruction. Follow these steps:

  1. Remove the inner cannula from the outer cannula.
  2. Clean the inner cannula using a sterile brush and sterile water or saline solution.
  3. Rinse thoroughly to remove all debris and cleaning solution.
  4. Inspect the inner cannula for cleanliness and integrity.
  5. Reinsert the clean inner cannula into the outer cannula, ensuring it locks securely in place.

Tube Change

The tracheostomy tube should be changed according to institutional protocols and physician orders. The inner cannula is designed for use up to 29 days within a tube-use cycle. Always ensure a replacement tube of the same size and type is readily available during a tube change procedure.
