For most models like the EAX-300 or EAX-500, remove the cover or battery retainer to access the 9-volt battery. Disconnect the old battery and install the new one. Settings are typically retained during a battery swap.

A chirp approximately every 45 seconds, often accompanied by a flashing red LED, indicates a low battery. Replace the 9-volt battery immediately.
