SHX heaters are equipped with overheating protection that switches the unit off if it becomes too hot. If this happens, unplug the device, allow it to cool down completely, and check for blockages in the air intake or outlet grilles avoiding furniture or curtains blocking airflow.
To use the frost guard function on applicable SHX models, turn the thermostat controller to the minimum setting (often marked with a small dot). The heater will automatically switch on if the room temperature drops close to freezing, provided the room is not too large for the unit.
