1. Увод

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up and operating your NETUM barcode scanner. The NETUM series includes various models offering different connectivity options (wired, 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth) and scanning capabilities (1D, 2D, QR codes). Please read this guide carefully to ensure proper use and optimal performance of your device.

Some models may include a charging dock or scanner stand, which are sold separately for other models.

3. Подешавање и повезивање

Your NETUM barcode scanner supports multiple connection modes: USB Wired, 2.4GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

3.1. Жична USB веза

This is a plug-and-play connection method, typically set to USB HID-KBW mode by default, requiring no additional drivers.

1. Connect the scanner to your device using the provided USB cable.
2. Ensure the USB HID-KBW mode is active (default setting).
3. Set your keyboard language if necessary (refer to Keyboard Language section).
4. Place the cursor in the desired input field on your device. The scanner is now ready to scan.

USB COM (Virtual Serial Port): If you need the host to receive data as a serial port, the USB COM Port Emulation feature can be used. A driver might be required for this. Scan the barcode below to activate this mode:

3.2. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection (Default for some models)

This mode uses a dedicated USB receiver for wireless communication.

1. Scan the "RF 2.4GHz Transmission" barcode.
2. Plug the USB receiver into your device's USB port.
3. Set your keyboard language if necessary (refer to Keyboard Language section).
4. Place the cursor in the desired input field on your device. The scanner is now ready to scan.

The scanner can connect to various devices via Bluetooth, typically in HID (Human Interface Device) Basic Mode by default.

1. Scan the "Bluetooth Transmission" barcode.
2. Power on the scanner by pressing the trigger button. The blue LED will flash, indicating pairing mode.
3. On your device (Android, iOS, Windows), go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
4. Select "Netum Bluetooth" from the list and tap to pair.
5. Once paired, the scanner will emit one long beep, and the blue LED will turn solid (no flashing).
6. Set your keyboard language if necessary (refer to Keyboard Language section).

4. Радни режими

The scanner offers various operating modes to suit different workflows. These modes apply to both 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections.

4.1. Normal Mode (Real-time Upload)

In this mode, scanned data is uploaded to your connected device immediately after each scan.

4.2. Store Mode (Inventory Mode)

All scanned data is stored directly in the scanner's internal memory. This is useful when working out of range of your host device.

The scanner has a built-in memory of 256 KB, capable of storing over 2600 codes (for NT-1698W) or around 20,000 Code128 barcodes (for NT-1228BL).

4.3. Output Stored Data

After reconnecting to your working station, you can manually upload all data entries from the scanner's buffer memory.

4.4. Output Total Entry

This function summarizes the gross quantity of the uploaded data entries.

5. Barcode Programming and Settings

NETUM barcode scanners are factory programmed with common settings. To change these settings, scan the appropriate barcodes provided in this guide. An asterisk (*) indicates the default setting.

5.1. Beep Settings

Control the scanner's audible feedback for successful scans.

5.2. Terminator Settings

Set the terminating character suffix (e.g., Carriage Return + Line Feed) after a scan.

• *CR+LF: Carriage Return + Line Feed (default).

• No terminator: No terminating character.

  

5.3. Idle Time (Auto Power Off)

The scanner will power off automatically if idle for a set period. Scan the barcodes below to change the default idle time.

5.4. Keyboard Language

The default keyboard language is American English. If you use a different keyboard layout, scan the corresponding barcode:

5.5. Factory Restore

To restore the scanner to its factory default settings (as shipped), scan the appropriate barcode. Note that some factory restore barcodes are model-specific.

• For Model NT-1228BL:

When the scanner emits two beeps or the battery level drops below 20%, connect the USB cable to the scanner and your device to charge it.

To check the scanner's firmware version, scan the barcode below. This information may be required for technical support.

7. Решавање проблема (Честа питања)

• Ensure barcodes are clean and clear. Dirty or unclear barcodes may not be readable.
• Some barcode types are disabled by default. You may need to activate a specific barcode type by scanning a command barcode. Contact customer service for assistance.
• Check barcode precision. This model decodes 2D≥7.5mil and 1D≥5mil. Higher precision barcodes might not be decoded.
• Digital barcodes on phones/computers can be read by CCD or 2D scanners, but not by laser scanners.

Problem: The data cannot be sent to my computer.

• Verify if the scanner is in "Store Mode" (inventory mode). If so, you need to scan the "Output Stored Data" barcode to transmit the stored scans.
• Contact customer service to get a command barcode for configuring the baud rate if necessary.

Problem: Messy code problem encountered while using other foreign languages.

решење: The default language is English. Refer to the "Keyboard Language" section (Section 5.4) to change the setting to your desired language.

Problem: 2D scanner cannot output Datamatrix GS1 group separator.

решење: Contact the service team for the command barcode to enable the scanner to output the group separator.

Problem: Scanner works on Mac computers via USB cable, but digits are scrambled.

Problem: Bluetooth connection appears as headphones instead of a keyboard.

Problem: Scanner does not read specific barcodes like those on cigarettes (marked goods).

• 2D (for 2D models): PDF417, Micro PDF417, Data Matrix, QR Code, Micro QR, Aztec, MaxiCode.

Note: DataMatrix(ECC200) is off by default and may need activation. Some specific barcode types might require enabling via command barcodes.

• For POS Systems: Many users report successful integration with various POS systems (e.g., Evotor, 1C, Windows-based POS). Ensure the scanner is configured as a keyboard emulation device (HID mode) for seamless data entry.
• Reading Difficult Barcodes: If experiencing issues with small, blurry, or specific barcodes (like those on Brazilian bank slips or marked goods), ensure you have a 2D scanner model. For persistent issues, contact customer service for specific programming barcodes to enable or optimize reading for those types.
• Језик тастатуре: If scanned data appears as "messy code" or incorrect characters, verify that the scanner's keyboard language setting matches your computer's keyboard layout.
