4.1 Fuel Mixture
The ES-250 uses a 2-stroke engine and requires a specific fuel mixture. Use fresh, unleaded gasoline mixed with ECHO-approved 2-stroke engine oil at the ratio specified in the engine manual (typically 50:1). Do not use automotive oil or straight gasoline.
4.2 Assembly for Vacuum/Mulching Mode
- Attach the vacuum tubes to the intake port of the powerhead. Secure them firmly.
- Connect the collection bag to the discharge elbow of the powerhead. Ensure the Velcro strap or clamp is tightly secured to prevent debris leakage.
4.3 Assembly for Blower Mode
- Attach the blower tube to the discharge port of the powerhead.
- Install the intake cover over the intake port to prevent debris from entering the impeller.
- Engage the choke (if engine is cold).
- Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine attempts to start (usually 1-3 pulls).
- Disengage the choke and pull the starter rope again until the engine starts.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before operating at full throttle.
5.2 Using the Vacuum/Mulcher

- Periodically check the collection bag and empty it when full to maintain optimal performance.
- Avoid vacuuming large sticks, rocks, or wet, heavy debris, as this can damage the impeller or clog the unit.
- Hold the unit firmly, directing the blower tube towards the debris.
- Use a sweeping motion to move leaves and light debris into piles.
- Adjust the throttle for variable speed control as needed for different tasks.
